Is correcting false teachings and false doctrine sowing discord?
This same Biblical Principle can and should be applied when dealing with Liars, Cheats and Thieves in your everyday life!
Proverbs 6:16-19 “These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.”

The answer to the question “Is correcting false teachings and false doctrine sowing discord” is NO, it is not! In fact, Paul tells us in nearly ALL of his writings to correct those who stray from the True Gospel.
Romans 16:17-18 “Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. 18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
The problem is that the majority of professing Christians do not know what the Word of God says, because they do not read and study it for themselves. Oh they hold on to their favorite version of the Bible, putting up a front and listening intently, to the motivational speaker behind the pulpit and taking their word as gospel. They never check to see if what they are being taught lines up with scripture. There are speakers who will quote supporting scriptures from several different versions (corrupted ones) to defend the false doctrine they are spewing. Please note, that I call them “speakers”, for they are NOT Preachers of the Gospel. They are merely speakers, promoting humanism, a satanic doctrine!
Paul warns us in 2nd Timothy 4:2-4 “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”
What will happen to those who preach false doctrine? Galatians 1:6-10 “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. 10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
What is the True Gospel? 1st Corinthians 1:17-18 “For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: (the good news of Jesus Christ is the Gospel) not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. 18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”
And continuing in 1st Corinthians 2:1-5 “And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: 5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.”
When I encounter someone who presents and promotes false teachings, I ask them to back their claims with scripture. And the scripture references must not be out of context or from a new age bible, but from the True Word of God. I find they are not able to do so, most of the time. There is only one thing that matters, in this world, and that is what the Word of God has to say about it.
One of the best examples of godly correction I can offer you, is Paul’s rebuke and correction of Peter. Galatians 2:11 “But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.” What did Peter do to draw a rebuke from Paul? It occurred at the time when the Gentile Christians along with James had arrived in Antioch. In a nutshell, out of fear of the circumcised Jews, Peter’s influence caused a separation between the Jewish Christians and the Gentile Christians. The Jewish Christians had fallen back into Rabbinical LAW. In their fervor to return to their roots, many current day Christians and Messianic Jews have fallen into this same trap. It is NOT the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
We are flawed individuals, due to the Fall of Adam and Eve. We enter this world with a sin nature which makes us ALL wicked people, no exceptions. Once we are “born again” that sin nature, (the old man) is put to the side and the divine nature that comes in, takes over. If Sin, in our lives, is not properly addressed, that sin nature WILL rear its ugly head. Satan will whisper falsehoods, in our ears, that cater to that fallen nature. If we not vigilant, that old man will once again have dominion over us!
I am flawed and I do not consider myself spiritually above another person. (1st Corinthians Chapter 2) When I am wrong, I can admit it and correct it. That is NOT the attitude of most pride filled Christians. They will stand their ground, KNOWING they are wrong, and that my friend is the doctrine of Satan!
1st Corinthians 3:4 “For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?”
There are innumerable people out there, teaching and preaching “another Gospel”. They are mixing countless falsehoods, deceits and deceptions into the salvation message. Everything from New Age and Witchcraft to salvation by works. The simple message of the Gospel is “ye must be born again”: John 3:1-7 “There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water (this in NOT a reference to baptism, as many assume. It is relating to being born from the water sack in your mother’s womb!) and of the Spirit, (The Holy Spirit fills the void when one is saved by accepting and believing on Jesus Christ) he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. See the rest of what Jesus told Nicodemus here if you don’t have a Bible or a correct one.
Christianity Today is an apostate news organization built on giving the hell bound masses what they want to read and hear, instead of what they need to read and hear. It’s the social gospel, the seeker-sensitive satanic crap! If people are not told this thinking is not Biblical, but satanic, how are they going to know?
Paul tell us how in Romans 10:13-17 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
If people are “hearing another gospel” or a wrong interpretation of God’s Word, they are putting their “faith” in the wrong place and that is spiritual adultery.
Here is a perfect sampling of the type of idiocy presented by Christianity Today. “When God Hits Below the Belt
Sometimes he pulls us into the ring—but he always gives us grace to endure.” By Mark Gignilliat
This article insinuates that God is a “dirty player” and will do what it takes to win, at least that is what I gleaned from the the snippet that was available. You can’t see the rest without a subscription. I’d advise you to not waste your hard earned money on foolishness. Find a ministry that is preaching the True Gospel of Jesus and support them.
“I’m not sure how to tell my children that God is dangerous. No doubt, I want them to nestle up to Aslan’s furry mane, safe and warm. But with enough life lived, disappointment felt, and loss endured, they will soon find out that he has teeth—big, sharp ones. He is good, but he is not safe, as C. S. Lewis said. And sometimes snuggling turns into a brawl.” (C.S. Lewis was an occultist and promoted witchcraft in his writings!) Trouble in Narnia – The Occult Side of C. S. Lewis
“My understanding of the Christian life has been rewired (rewired by false doctrine) since the spirituality of my youth, which promised that every day with Jesus would grow sweeter than the day before. (It is sweeter, if you follow the will of God for your life) Yesterday’s sweetness has become today’s bitterness. A dear friend of mine is battling pancreatic cancer in its final stages. He understands that life with God is not always easy, that sometimes we wrestle with him.” (No, he is blaming God for the cancer when truth is, SIN is the cause of disease!)
Most of you are on that USS Religion and are SINKING! Get off that boat to hell and into the Good Ole Gospel Ship, Glory to God!
Here is a true example, of Sowing Discord among the brethren, from my own personal experience. I am ashamed to say, that I have been guilty of sowing discord, within the church, where I was saved. This happened 15+ years ago. I foolishly harkened to the gossip and murmurings of trouble makers, brought in by Satan, to destroy revival that was taking place. I gave heed to the deacons (one was a mason), who were battling against the Pastor for control of the Church. Yes, there were things the pastor was doing that were wrong. However, God put him in charge. As the body, we should have been covering our Pastor in Prayer.
1st Timothy 2:1-2 “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.” Anyone who undertakes the job of teacher, preacher, pastor or any other type of authority, and is presenting the True Gospel, immediately comes under more intense attack from the enemy.
Instead of going to the Lord in prayer and praying for the pastor and warring Deacons, I took sides with Satan’s bunch and asked the pastor to leave. Well, that split the church and pretty much destroyed it. I sowed discord and as I said I am ashamed to have taken part. I will stand before the judgment seat of Christ and hang my head in shame for that. 2nd Corinthians 5:10 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”
I repented of that SIN once the Holy Spirit convicted me of it. I have continually asked forgiveness for many, many other sins I committed and still do commit. 1st John 1:9-10 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” That is Grace. God recognizes that we struggle and often fall short. He is quick to forgive us, and to give us strength to stand.
Another example. Is it sowing discord when Franklin Graham calls out Christian University for letting teacher say Islam & Christianity worship same God? No, his rebuke is right and just.
Do you see the difference between Sowing Discord and trying to point out false doctrine that will send people to hell? I sure pray you do.
Now that I have prefaced this, let me get on with what sparked this writing in Part 2
